We will be hosting FREE personal safety and empowerment courses facilitated by Kia Haumaru – Personal Safety Education, a nationwide network of accredited personal safety education kaiako. These workshops are for Women over 60 and will cover
-healthy relationships
-early warning signs of interpersonal violence
-self-care
-positive assertiveness and boundary-setting skills
-verbal strategies include to stop a harmful situation before it becomes physical
-emphasis is placed on trusting your instincts, knowing your rights, and using your voice.
The physical safety techniques are simple, easy to learn and highly effective against a bigger, stronger attacker. They are adapted to suit all abilities, ages, and fitness levels.
Trigger warning - the course will talk about abusive relationships and gender-based violence.
