A chair yoga class is very different to what you might think of as yoga.
This class is about supporting functional mobility, the kind of movement that helps you to continue to carry-out day to day tasks, to help you to continue to look after yourself and your wellbeing.
Chair yoga is also a way to practice yoga that will allow you to manage ageing and chronic conditions, as well as support pain management, insomnia, and your mindset. It will support you over time to become more resilient and learn to cope with the changes of your conditions.
Chair yoga will incorporate focus and coordination, which can support memory, body awareness and physical balance.
Chair Yoga will run for 8 weeks from 26th October 2023 until 14th December. The class will be re-evaluated as to whether it will continue in 2024, so if this is something you would like to try, don’t hesitate to book.
Thursdays at Age Concern Hastings ( 415 Heretaunga St East) at 1pm and Fridays at the Waipawa Senior Citizens Hall (55b Waverley St) at 9:30am.
