Radha is an experienced meditation and yoga practitioner and teacher, event organiser and space holder, and the founder of Heart Awakening.

Her offerings include silent meditation retreats taught all over New Zealand, meditation and hatha yoga classes and courses held online or in person in Hawkes Bay, as well as cacao ceremonies, wellness workshops, Ayurveda consultations and therapies and body work.

The popularity of meditation is increasing as more people discover its benefits in a world which is full of stress and agitation. Dedicating time to stillness carves a way of being which is incredibly rejuvenating and healing for the nervous system and for the mind.

Yet meditation can offer so much more than that! It is the best-known way to return back home, to what is true and to who we are.

Meditation is a practice of remembering the deep, unshakable peace at our core.

What can people expect when attending your course and retreat?

This meditation course consists of eight meditation classes over an eight week period.

Each class includes some theory/ technique presentation, practice and time for discussion and questions.

It is perfectly suitable for beginners aspiring to start a meditation practice, yet it would also serve the experienced practitioners craving to go deeper in their practice.

We will learn techniques to quieten the mind, sink and rest in the Heart and also the powerfully transformative method of self-enquiry (atma vichara).

What are the benefits people can experience when attending your course and retreat?

There is a lot of research showing the many benefits of meditation for our overall well being - stress and anxiety reduction, emotional health, enhanced self-awareness, longer attention span, improvement in the quality of sleep and memory, generated kindness and compassion and less reactivity to pain or difficulties, and many many more, but together with that, and perhaps most importantly - the discovery of our essential nature as pure awareness.
