Learn to Linocut!
Term 3 evening Classes at Creative Arts Napier (CAN)
Linocut for Beginners is a series of 6 weekly evening classes where you will discover the wide variety of options this medium offers. Suitable for absolute beginners or students who have previously tried some printmaking with lino. The focus is on fun while being creative, and everything you need to know is covered step-by-step.
Guided by experienced tutor and practicing printmaker Lisa Feyen from Ink Moth Print Studio, you will work on lino blocks to produce a limited edition of fine art prints in a range of colours. During the six-week course you will explore a range of techniques for adding and playing with colour, including collage (chine colle), colour blending, and using collaged backgrounds.
After completing Term 3, you will be offered the opportunity to progress to term 4 classes, learning how to print in layers of colour using the multi-block technique, and end the year with a celebration where you can share your achievements with family and friends.
What to bring:
The first block of A6 lino is included in the course fee, with more lino blocks available to purchase at the class as needed (cash only).
